biography

Born and raised in rural Eastern Oregon, Deanna developed a deep connection to and understanding of, her environment. This powerful consciousness has become like an eighth sense that guides Epley’s artistic exploration. Art is a way of life for her and has profoundly impacted her view of the world.

Deanna pursued a degree in Art Education and a MS degree of Educational Media/Secondary Education. She began her art teaching career in Pendleton, Oregon and has worked as an art educator and advocate for the Arts, throughout Oregon. She retired from teaching in 2008. Four years prior to her retirement, she taught and managed the library at Madras High School in Madras, Oregon.

Epley’s work has been displayed in group and one person shows at colleges in Oregon and Idaho. Her sculptures and ceramic pieces have been selected in juried shows at the Carnegie Center for the Arts, in Walla Walla, Washington. She has participated in shows at The Art Adventure Gallery since 2004.

Deanna and her husband Jim, live in Madras where she works out of her home studio, designing and producing art for her company, D.Epley Designs.
